Pictured here Severn Trent Academy came to bring some Christmas cheer to the communities in Coventry we work with.

Jo Wright (Severn Trent’s Academy Learner Welfare Advisor) and apprentices Dan McKeown, Hayden Everitt and recent apprenticeship qualifier Connor Dunn donated hand packed hampers filled with Christmas treats to our Engagement Officers Tia Bhayat (Improving Lives)  and Alice Upton (Chat Central)  who are distributing them to the people that Voluntary Action Coventry connect with.

Chat Central works with people who are feeling lonely or isolated by engaging them in a variety of different activities in the community as a group, with the aim of helping them make friendships and connections and ultimately build confidence in their own ability to find and engage in new opportunities that fill their lives positively.

Improving Lives is a volunteering course, supporting people who find it difficult to move forward in their lives due to ill mental health, disabilities, low skills or confidence. We do confidence and skills-based workshops with them along with visits out to charities and volunteering taster sessions, to show them they have the ability to make a difference to their own circumstances and that of others through volunteering.
