Over 50 voluntary organisations turned out in force for Voluntary Action Coventry’s (VAC) AGM to witness the official launch of the Coventry VCSE Alliance Manifesto. Taking place on Thursday 26 September, VAC’s membership, known as the Coventry VCSE Alliance came together to make the commitment to make Coventry a better place for all who live here.
Pictured here holding a giant paper chain that was created over the course of the event, are members of the Alliance. The chain is a representation of the way that each organisation is a vital link for community resilience in Coventry.
Working in the sector requires innovation and resourcefulness, from articulating services and securing funding to stretch resources to benefit as many people as possible. Those who volunteer and work to improve conditions for others do so from a place of empathy and understanding. It takes resilience and tenacity to keep going when the situation gets tough.
Sue Ogle, CEO for Voluntary Action Coventry said:
“Our Coventry VCSE Alliance Manifesto is a mechanism to explore how we can be stronger together and achieve a better Coventry for all. We are united by our passion, whether that is to bring about policy change or to make a difference in the lives of a few or of many.”
Voluntary Action Coventry is calling on Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations based in or offering services for the good of Coventry and the people who live here to join the Alliance. Membership is free. It takes just one click to sign up and create a profile at VAC’s new community engagement platform here: https://www.getinvolvedcoventry.org.uk
