At the touch of a button, Get Involved Coventry (www.getinvolvedcoventry.org.uk) empowers community-driven folk to make Coventry a better place for all. The new community engagement website is being launched in September by Voluntary Action Coventry.

At the click of a button, the community building initiative will match people who have time to give with organisations on their doorstep who are in need of their skills and passion. Get Involved Coventry also makes it easy for citizens to access community organisation support, and find local third sector events and services in the city.

All you need to do is log-onto Get Involved Coventry/Volunteers to create an account and get started.

Volunteering is enormously rewarding. Not only do you feel a huge sense of achievement by helping others but through sharing your skills and passion, you often unlock new abilities and get to meet like-minded people, leading to meaningful friendships.

We want to make it as easy as possible for acts of goodwill to spread throughout the city.  Here at VAC we have been championing community action for more than six decades, we know that people have passion and skills to share, but that there is much competing for one’s free time. That’s one of the reasons we’re launching the Get Involved Coventry site. People want to access information quickly. Would-be volunteers are seeking flexibility in role whether it’s an offer of a weekly commitment or a one-off, or an in-person task or a virtual role from home. Our highly searchable platform is a brilliant resource that’s bursting with amazing  volunteering opportunities as well as shining a light on community services.

Coventry people can keep an eye on the website for new roles being added, inspiring stories of how people are transforming lives and exciting community events and services. The Team at Voluntary Action Coventry are also running drop in support sessions for people don’t have access to a computer, or want a hand with getting on-board. The drop in sessions takes place (in person) on Mondays and Tuesdays, 10am – 2pm, throughout the year at Voluntary Action Coventry, Harp Place.
